En kväll på Katalins terrass med sångerskan Signe Bådagård, som framför ett urval av sina bästa jazzlåtar. Hon uppträder här tillsammans med pianisten Pelle Karlström, basisten Per V Johansson, trummisen Håkan Jansson och dessutom den fenomenale saxofonisten Ingalill “Plingis” Högman.
”Behind the artist we find Signe Bådagård, a Stockholm-based vocalist, songwriter and producer. Her voice preceded her own entry into the musical world: as a schooled jazz vocalist she’s been active as a singer and composer for years, and after being pulled in for by collaborations by recognized artists like Jonathan Johansson and Duvchi she turnt the spotlight onto herself as an artist. Through music college and her growing network in the industry, her artistic identity as Signe started to form and resulted in the project’s first fruit: her debut single Over, in 2018. It’s a piece of slow-burning electro-noir given an ageless power by her dark, elegant voice and made for a noteworthy introduction for the new artist. In January 2019 she released the slightly more poppy follow-up, Your Game, on Norweigan label Brilliance Records. The single got picked up by numerous international music blog, Spotify configured playlists and radio stations both nationally and abroad.
On Valentine’s Day 2020 Signe released her debut EP Can’t Wait to Come Down. This time she decided to do it fully independent. The EP is about all of those stages of mixed feelings you go through after a separation, when you get angry instead of sad, when you realize your own faults and mistakes and that you subconsciously always knew that the dreams you thought you’d shared was unattainable.
Growing up as the youngest sister in a home filled with music (and professional musicians) she’s always been singing and performing. As a child and in her teen years she also played the classical violin. Signe has numerous different types of band projects behind her, all of which played an important roll in her finding her true voice as a solo artist. She’s had the honor over the years, thanks to her family and her education, to work with some of the country’s most eligible musicians.
She finished her Bachelor’s degree at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm in 2018, and prior to that she studied singing at the jazz programs at both Mellansel and Bollnäs colleges. She’s been a member of the board of IMPRA, an association fighting for gender equality in the music business since 2006. As a freelance musician she’s continuously active as a studio singer in various projects (mostly working with SONY Music), as well as a co-producer/composer. She’s also been doing vocal teaching at music shools like Musikania, Musikhuset Åkersberga and Rytmus as well as tutoring private students.”
